Caring for your amber

Amber is fossilised tree resin – millions of years old, yet softer and lighter than any gemstone. A little care keeps it warm and glowing for years.

Everyday wear

  • Put your amber on after perfume, hairspray and lotion – chemicals can dull its surface.
  • Take it off before swimming, showering, sport or cleaning.
  • Store each piece separately in a soft pouch, so harder jewellery can't scratch it.
  • Keep it out of long, direct sunlight and away from heat.

Cleaning

  • Wipe gently with a soft, damp cloth and dry straight away.
  • For extra shine, polish with a drop of olive oil, then wipe off the excess.
  • Never use jewellery cleaner, alcohol or an ultrasonic cleaner.

Good to know

  • Our jewellery is made for adults. Small beads can be a choking hazard – keep pieces away from babies and young children, and never use them as teething jewellery.

How do I take care of my amber jewelry?

Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth now and then. Keep it away from perfume, hairspray, lotions and household cleaners, and store it separately so harder jewelry doesn’t scratch it. Natural skin oils will slowly give it a softer, warmer glow over time.
